Mid City Steel (MCS), a leader in the steel service industry is seeking the best candidate available to help with our continued growth over the past 40 years.

MCS is a state of the art facility with two locations that both have the latest in steel processing equipment, a brand new fleet of trucks that are all properly maintained, and a management team that cares about all aspects of their jobs and make sure all commitments are delivered when promised.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: Starting Base $40,000 - $50,000 per year based upon previous experience. Commissions - Group Shared commission with progressive percentage increase over time. Inquire within for further details. Total - Ability to exceed $100k short-term with proper personal motivation in growing industry and an ever-growing company!

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / Associate Degree / Bachelor Degree or equivalent in job-related experience
• Minimum 2 years of inside sales experience, or 2 years of Customer Service experience
• Skills or experience in assisting customers before, during, and after purchases to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations
• Experience or knowledge of identifying new pipelines, new markets, and new distribution channels for individual and overall company growth
• Fluent in similar Point of Sale software’s (P.O.S.) – Inhouse training available!
• Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task, properly manage and prioritize time, and stay focused
• Ability to work tightly with a Team to achieve a common goal to succeed.
• Capable of quick and efficient learning under proper guidance and teaching
• Willingness to learn and progress through personal and expected goals
• Proficient in working with computers and associating applications
• Proficient in typing, proper email etiquette, and efficient communication on all levels
• Basic math Skills and knowledge of measurements, fractions, and tape measure readings
• Knowledgeable in markups and multipliers – sales based margins and profits
• Personal transportation with a clean driving record

Preferred:

• Steel sales and/or steel market experience
• Proficiency with Gmail, Microsoft Office applications, and CAD software
• Service Center knowledge on any kind
• Ability to read Fabrication Drawings, Shop Drawings and/or Structural drawings
• Knowledge in Steel materials, grades, processing costs, and market pricing

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to travel between local building operations for further training, order processing and/or tracking purposes
